WATER & SEDIMENT QUALITY DATA PORTAL

Use the Water and Sediment Quality Data Portal to:

  • View data describing the quality of water and sediments of the Galveston Bay Estuary and surrounding tributaries.
  • Use the interactive graphs to browse annual, monthly and daily average concentrations of selected water and sediment quality parameters.
  • Download the raw data in Excel format.

How to Use the Water & Sediment Quality Data Portal
STEP 1: Select a subbay or tributary from the map
STEP 2: Select a parameter from the drop down list
STEP 3: Click on the bar graph to drill down through time (view data in graph and table format)
STEP 4: Download Dataset (the raw data for the user’s selection) in Excel format

Note: Some waterbodies may have little or no data because water and sediment quality samples are collected most often in waterbodies with known water and sediment quality problems. Also, some parameters tend to vary over time particularly if sampled after a rain event or if sampled at different times of the day (due to the influence of sunlight and increased water temperature).
